The piece in question: Too daft? Have your say at KEELERTORNERO

We’ve begun a new painting/collage/drawing project on folded paper. This (unfinished) is the first in the series which crosshatches the lives of the inhabitants of the island TERSCHELLING off the coast of Holland, with the lives of Hollywood celebrities in the 1950’s. The project illustrates the telling of imagined stories in which the characters lives coincide.

This was the trial run to see how acrylic and graphite sit together on the paper. The folded paper allows us freedom from the constraints of canvas painting while at the same time questioning traditional notions of  artistic value.

We submitted this one: ‘Seeing Though’ for the Royal Academy summer exhibition. The beautiful frame was made by ace carpenter James Chaplin.

Mr. Keeler attempts to summon the spirits of  the Hollybush ale house. They will communicate with us through the medium of the ‘Sharpie mini’ elevated by the sacred spirit horses of Hampstead Heath.

The spirits of Hollybush Vale chart the constellation of Equus.
